The Arkansas Hospice Foundation impacts the communities we serve. With your support, we will continue subsidizing programs administered by Arkansas Hospice, helping our fellow Arkansans live life to the fullest. Here are a few examples of how your gifts make a community impact:
One out of four dying Americans is a veteran. Through the Arkansas Hospice Committed to Veterans program, your gifts not only help veterans receive the care they deserve, but also raise awareness of veterans causes through media campaigns and ceremonies to honor veterans across Arkansas.
Only 7 of the 43 counties in the Arkansas Hospice service area are classified as urban. It is more difficult and expensive to provide care in rural areas, yet the need is greater. Your gifts help bring comfort care to all Arkansans in our service area, no matter how remote.
The cost of bereavement care is not included in the Medicare reimbursement formula. However, as a nonprofit care provider, Arkansas Hospice offers this service free of charge to anyone who has experienced loss in the communities we serve.
Minority families do not utilize hospice care at the same rate as non-minority families. Thanks to grants from organizations like the Ross Foundation and Arkansas Black Hall of Fame, Arkansas Hospice is reaching out to black, Hispanic and other ethnic communities to increase access, educate and bring cultural awareness of the benefits of hospice care.
Arkansas Hospice has the only dedicated pediatric hospice care team in the state, and serves more pediatric patients than any other hospice provider in Arkansas.
