NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas Hospice, the state’s largest non-profit provider of hospice care, has been named a 2023 recipient of the Hospice CAHPS Honors Elite and Hospice Honors awards. This prestigious annual review recognizes agencies continuously providing the highest level of quality care and positive patient and caregiver experiences.
The awards are presented by HEALTHCAREfirst, a data-gathering and analytics company that partners with thousands of hospice and home health agencies across the country. This recognition is based on information analyzed from the Hospice Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) surveys, which are given to caregivers of hospice patients.
Arkansas Hospice has been recognized with Hospice Honors awards each year since 2013. This year, Arkansas Hospice is one of only two providers in the state to receive Hospice Honors Elite Awards, which recognize the top-performing hospices among those that have selected HEALTHCAREfirst as their hospice survey partner.
“We began our Annual Hospice Honors Award program more than ten years ago as a way to highlight those agencies that are truly leading the way in providing and demonstrating quality patient care,” said Ronda Howard, Vice President of Revenue Cycle and CAHPS at HEALTHCAREfirst. “We congratulate Arkansas Hospice on their success and are so proud and honored that they have chosen to partner with us in helping drive success for their agency.”
Serving 48 counties across the state, Arkansas Hospice is a not-for-profit organization caring for hundreds of seriously ill patients each day in homes, nursing homes, hospitals, assisted living facilities and Arkansas Hospice inpatient or contracted facilities. The Hospice Honors Elite Award recognizes Arkansas Hospice’s locations in Berryville, Rogers and Russellville. The Hospice Honors Award recognizes the organization’s locations in Little Rock, North Little Rock, Conway, Hot Springs, Monticello, Pine Bluff and Searcy.
Award criteria were based on HCAHPS survey results for an evaluation period of October 2021 through September 2022. Award recipients were identified by evaluating performance on a set of 24 quality indicator measures. To be eligible for consideration, a hospice agency must be currently partnered with HEALTHCAREfirst and must have had at least one complete survey returned in each of the four quarters of the evaluation period. Hospice Honors recipients include those agencies scoring above the HEALTHCAREfirst National Performance Score on 20 of the evaluated questions. HEALTHCAREfirst holds a special recognition, Hospice Honors Elite, to hospice agencies scoring above the HEALTHCAREfirst National Performance Score on 100 percent, or all 24, of the evaluated questions.
