Arkansas Hospice Family Recipients of MedEvolve Toy Drive

Arkansas Hospice, the state’s largest provider of hospice services, is pleased to announce a patient’s family was chosen as the recipients of MedEvolve’s 2017 Toy Drive.

As a way to give back, MedEvolve asked their employees to nominate a family experiencing undue hardship during the holiday season. The software company picked Melody Robinson’s suggestion to help a family being cared for by Arkansas Hospice.

When asked why Melody made her nomination, she answered with her own story:

“My employer, MedEvolve mentioned that we were going to have a toy drive and help families in need within our employee’s circle. I remember how difficult it was during the holidays when my son, Myles was under the care of Arkansas Hospice. I went through so many emotions, trying to remain happy around Myles and my other children. It took a lot of strength to make the best of Christmas 2015, not knowing that it would be the last Christmas for Myles.

During the whole process, I can’t thank Arkansas Hospice enough for their support, so I reached out to Arkansas Hospice to see if there was a family in need that I could nominate for the toy drive. I know within Arkansas Hospice there are families going through the same process as my family. It brings me joy knowing that I could be a part of making that process easier and bringing a smile to a family in need. I would love to thank my employer, MedEvolve, without them this wouldn’t have been possible. Also, many thanks to Arkansas Hospice for their continued support!”

The recipient family of the toy drive was extremely grateful for the generous gift from MedEvolve. “This is the first time our boys have had gifts on Christmas in quite some time,” said the family’s mother. The two boys are brothers to their 2-year-old sister, who is currently under the care of Arkansas Hospice’s pediatric team. In addition to the gifts, a holiday meal was delivered by MedEvolve’s Melody Robinson, Toni Tyler, and Arkansas Hospice Bereavement Specialist Jeana Jucha.

David Edwards, Arkansas Hospice Communications Manager stated, “We cannot thank MedEvolve enough for choosing a family under our care for this gift. Their kindness and generosity made a real difference in the lives of a family in need during the holidays.”

Arkansas Hospice is a nonprofit organization, and the only hospice care provider in the state with a dedicated pediatric team.
