North Little Rock, Ark. – The Arkansas Hospice Foundation has been awarded a challenge grant of $100,000 by the Windgate Foundation designated for unrestricted program support for Arkansas Hospice. The funds will assist in operational costs to provide excellence in hospice and palliative care at a time of critical need to many individuals and their families in Arkansas.
Shannon Boshears, Vice President and Chief Philanthropy Officer of Arkansas Hospice Foundation, said, “We’re incredibly excited and honored to partner with the Windgate Foundation and receive this grant opportunity that will benefit the mission and patients of Arkansas Hospice. As the state’s largest, non-profit hospice organization, we rely on private funding to fulfill many needs when providing comfort to individuals when they are the most vulnerable.”
To kick-off the matching grant campaign, all funds raised for the upcoming Party at the Plaza event will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $100,000. Party at the Plaza will be held September 25th in the Argenta Arts District on Main Street in North Little Rock from 2:00 – 10:30 p.m. The event is open to the public, and will feature free concerts, art exhibits, kid-friendly activities, plus food and drink specials. In advance of the event, individuals are encouraged to fundraise online by creating virtual fundraising teams that will compete for weekly prizes and grand prizes at the event in September. Details are available at https://arkansashospice.org/plaza.
