Party at the Plaza Co-Chairs

For 2023, the Arkansas Hospice Foundation is pleased to announce that Party at the Plaza co-chairs are Sharon Aureli and Bruce Holsted, both longtime supporters of Arkansas Hospice and its mission.

About Sharon

At the inaugural Party at the Plaza in 2022, Sharon received the first Michael V. Aureli Compass Award for her contributions to the nonprofit organization during its 30-year history. The award is named for her late husband, Michael Aureli, who was the founder of Arkansas Hospice and died in 2011 as a patient in the organization’s care.

For more than a decade, Sharon has been a key figure at Arkansas Hospice in her own right. In 2013, she joined the Arkansas Hospice Foundation Board of Directors, and she was named board chair in the fall of 2018. Since then, she’s moved over to the Arkansas Hospice Governing Board, where she continues to play an active role.

Sharon is extremely accomplished in her own career as a nurse. In 2015, she was named a Health Care Hero and Nurse of the Year by Arkansas Business for her work at Baptist Health.

About Bruce

Bruce and his wife, Becky, have graciously supported Arkansas Hospice and the Arkansas Hospice Foundation since 2007.

A longtime Arkansas Hospice volunteer, Bruce has a true “hospice heart” and brings a sense of calmness, compassion and trust to all he encounters with his work at Arkansas Hospice – whether it’s patients, staff or fellow volunteers. In 2011, he was recognized as Arkansas Hospice’s volunteer of the year for his continued dedication.

In September 2016, Bruce was elected to the Arkansas Hospice Foundation Board of Directors. Bruce has been an officer on the Foundation board since October 2018, and he currently serves as board chair.

Bruce is founder and CEO of Holsted Companies, which specializes in servicing tower and antenna equipment.
